20A AC Battery Charger

The Enerdrive | Dometic 20A Battery Charger is a fully automatic, multistage charger designed to quickly and accurately recharge batteries while maximizing their service life. With the ability to charge up to three separate battery banks, this charger is ideal for a variety of applications, offering flexibility, efficiency, and advanced features to meet your power needs.

Multistage Charging
This charger employs smart charging technology, allowing for permanent connection to your battery banks. The four-stage charging process ensures optimal performance and longevity:

• Bulk/Boost Charge: Delivers full rated output until the battery reaches its absorption voltage, recovering approximately 80% of capacity as quickly as possible.
• Absorption Charge: Maintains a steady voltage to replace the remaining 20% of capacity, with current gradually decreasing as the battery nears full charge.
• Float Charge: Reduces voltage to a safe, constant level to prevent overcharging, supports additional loads like DC lighting and refrigerators, and allows the charger to function as a DC power supply.
• Maintenance Charge: After 7 days in float mode, the charger switches to bulk mode to agitate the battery electrolyte, helping to extend battery service life.

Priority Charging
The charger prioritizes Bank 1 (main house battery bank) to ensure it recharges quickly before transitioning to Banks 2 and 3. It also supports flexible battery chemistries, allowing different types of batteries (e.g., AGM for house and lead calcium for start banks) across the three banks. An override function is available to recover all three banks evenly when needed, before resuming priority charging for Bank 1.

Lithium Battery Compatibility
This charger is designed to meet the specific requirements of Lithium batteries, delivering a constant current/constant voltage charge algorithm. Every amp-hour delivered is accepted as one amp-hour into the battery, ensuring efficient charging. Once the voltage peak is reached, the charger switches to power supply mode.

LED Display Panel
The intuitive LED display provides essential information at a glance, including charger amps, battery voltage, and charge state. In float/power supply mode, load amps are displayed for real-time monitoring. The display also allows for programming of all charger settings and activation of silent mode.

Silent Mode
Silent mode can be activated by pressing the “SEL” button for 5 seconds. This mode disables the cooling fan for quiet operation, making it ideal for nighttime use near sleeping areas. During silent mode, the charger reduces current output to 50% for up to 12 hours before returning to normal operation.

Battery Temperature Sensor
The charger includes a battery temperature sensor with a 7.5-meter cable for accurate monitoring, ensuring safe and efficient charging under varying conditions.
