The Enerdrive | Dometic 12V 40A AC Battery Charger is a fully automatic, “set and forget” charger designed to quickly and accurately recharge your batteries while maximizing their service life. Its multistage smart charging technology ensures safe, efficient, and permanent connection to your battery banks.

The charger delivers four primary charging stages:

Bulk (Boost) Charge:  Charges the battery at full rated output until it reaches its absorption voltage.  Recovers approximately 80% of the battery capacity as quickly as possible.

Absorption Charge: Maintains a steady voltage while the remaining 20% of the battery is charged.  Current gradually decreases as the battery approaches full charge.

Float Charge:  Reduces voltage to a safe, constant level to prevent overcharging.  Supports additional loads connected to the battery, such as DC lighting or refrigerators.  Allows the charger to function as a DC power supply.

Maintenance Charge:  After 7 days of constant operation in float mode, the charger switches back to bulk mode. This process agitates the battery’s electrolyte, extending its service life.

Priority Charging: Charge Where You Need It Most

The charger prioritizes Battery Bank 1 (e.g., your main house battery bank) to recharge it as quickly as possible before transitioning to Banks 2 and 3.
