Multistage Charging Process

The Enerdrive | Dometic 100A Battery Charger is a fully automatic, “set and forget” charger designed to quickly and accurately recharge your batteries. Its multistage smart charging technology ensures optimal battery performance and longevity.

Four Primary Charge Stages:

1. Bulk/Boost Charge:

   • Delivers full-rated output current until the battery reaches its absorption voltage.
   • Recovers approximately 80% of the battery capacity as quickly as possible.

2. Absorption Charge:

   • Maintains a steady voltage while the remaining 20% of the charge is completed.
   • Current gradually decreases as the battery approaches full charge.

3. Float Charge:

   • Reduces voltage to a safe, constant level to prevent overcharging.
   • Supports additional loads like DC lighting and refrigerators.
   • Allows the charger to function as a DC power supply.

4. Maintenance Charge:

   • After 7 days in float mode, the charger switches back to bulk mode to agitate the battery electrolyte, extending battery life.

1 Priority – Charge Where You Need It Most

The Enerdrive 100A Battery Charger prioritizes charging Bank 1 (main house battery bank) to ensure it recharges quickly. Once Bank 1 is charged, the charger transitions to Banks 2 and 3.

• Mixed Battery Chemistries: Supports different battery types across banks (e.g., AGM for house and lead calcium for start banks).
• Override Function: If all 3 banks require charging, the charger evenly recovers all banks before prioritizing Bank 1.
