Victron 48V 8000VA Quattro 48/8000/110-100/100 VE.Bus Inverter/Charger

The Victron Quattro is a combined inverter/charger with dual AC inputs and an integrated transfer switch — a versatile and robust solution for off-grid homes, industrial operations, commercial projects, and backup power systems. With automatic source switching, no-break functionality, and scalable parallel operation, the Quattro ensures uninterrupted power across demanding applications.

Dual AC Inputs with Automatic Transfer Connect two independent AC sources — such as the public grid and a generator, or two generators. The Quattro automatically detects and connects to the active source, ensuring seamless transition between power sources and maintaining continuity for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.

Two AC Outputs — with No-Break on Output 1 The main output provides no-break functionality. If grid or generator power drops out, the Quattro switches to inverter mode in less than 20 milliseconds — fast enough that computers and other sensitive electronics continue running without disruption. The second output is live only when AC is available on one of the Quattro's inputs, making it ideal for non-essential loads like water heaters or air conditioning that shouldn't drain the battery.

PowerControl — Smart Management of Generator or Grid Power The Quattro is a powerful battery charger and will draw significant current from a generator or shore supply (16 A per 5 kVA Quattro at 230 VAC). A current limit can be set on each AC input. The Quattro then accounts for other AC loads and uses whatever capacity is spare for charging, preventing the generator or mains supply from being overloaded. This is crucial for off-grid and UPS system stability.

PowerAssist — Boosting Shore or Generator Power PowerAssist takes PowerControl further. Where peak power is often required only for a limited period, the Quattro compensates for insufficient mains or generator power by supplementing with power from the battery. When the load reduces, spare power is used to recharge the battery. This ensures continuous operation and lets you run larger loads on a smaller generator or limited shore connection.

Scalable Power with Parallel Operation Up to six Quattro units can operate in parallel, providing up to 48 kW / 60 kVA output power and 840 A charging capacity — catering to industrial-scale energy requirements.

Three-Phase and Split-Phase Capability Three units can be configured for three-phase output. Up to four sets of three units can be parallel connected to supply up to 144 kW / 180 kVA inverter power and over 2,500 A charging capacity, suitable for the most intensive industrial and commercial applications. A split-phase AC source can be obtained by connecting a Victron autotransformer to a "European" inverter programmed to supply 240 V / 60 Hz. Check the datasheets for model-specific parallel, three-phase, and split-phase capabilities.

Solar & Off-Grid Integration The Quattro integrates into off-grid, grid-connected PV, and alternative energy systems. Pair with Victron MPPT solar charge controllers for a fully managed energy system, providing reliable AC power even during grid failures. Loss-of-mains detection software is available for grid-connected installations.

System Configuration Multiple configuration methods suit different system complexities:

  • Standalone applications: DIP switch setting procedure — changes can be made in minutes.
  • Parallel and three-phase systems: VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.
  • Off-grid, grid-interactive, and self-consumption applications (involving grid-tie inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers): Assistants — dedicated software for specific applications.

Monitoring & Control On-site monitoring options include: Battery Monitor, Multi Control Panel, Cerbo GX or other GX devices, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), and laptop or computer (USB or RS232).

For remote monitoring and control, pair with a Cerbo GX or other GX device. Monitor system performance, adjust settings, automate functions like generator auto-start, and remotely configure your system — from anywhere, on any device, via the free VRM (Victron Remote Management) portal and app. Data is stored and displayed on the VRM website free of charge.

Lithium-Ion Compatible The Quattro is compatible with lithium-ion battery systems.

Applications Across Industries The Victron Quattro is suited to renewable energy systems, manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings, remote off-grid locations, tiny houses, and backup power installations. Its robust design and versatile features ensure it meets the specific energy requirements of each application.
