Perfect for Dual Battery Systems in Vehicles and Boats
Keep your service battery properly charged off the alternator — with full galvanic isolation between input and output for safe, noise-free charging on boats and sensitive systems.
The Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger is a professional DC to DC adaptive 3-stage charger with built-in Bluetooth. For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where the (smart) alternator and the start battery are used to charge the service battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and can be remotely controlled via a remote on/off switch and has an engine running detection mechanism.
The Orion-Tr Smart charger is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400W, and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power. Suitable for high temperatures up to 55°C with a full rated output up to 40°C.
This is the isolated version: the input and output are galvanically isolated, which breaks ground loops and keeps your circuits safely separated — the right choice for marine systems and any install where a shared earth could cause problems. If you don't need isolation, the non-isolated Orion-Tr Smart is a lower-cost alternative.
Key features
- Adaptive 3-stage charging for both lead-acid and lithium batteries

How to Select the Right DC-DC Charger
- Choose the "Input Voltage" according to the battery from which you will be charging.
- Choose the "Output Voltage" according to the battery that you want to charge.
- Find a DC-DC model with a lower Output Current (Amps) than the Charge Current of the battery you want to charge.

Why Do We Need Smart DC-DC Chargers?
Modern smart (Euro 5/6) alternators vary their output voltage, so a traditional split-charge relay can't reliably charge a second battery — and connecting lithium directly to an alternator can damage it. A DC-DC charger solves both problems. These articles explain why:
